Nikki Hiltz – Women’s 800m (8:20pm PT Start)
Arguably the most consistent American middle distance runner over the past few seasons, Hiltz is running strong in 2025. They finished fifth in the loaded Pre Classic 1,500m race last weekend, crossing the finish in 3:55.96, claiming the top spot by an American and now ranks sixth in the world in the event. Hiltz is entered in the 800m on Saturday and will look to lower their personal best of 1:58.23 set in Jamaica in early April.
Hobbs Kessler – Men’s 800m (8:15pm PT Start)
After finishing tenth at the Pre Classic last weekend in the 1500m, where he ran 3:48.32 and finishing as the fourth American, Kessler will eye his PR and besting a fantastic field in the men’s 800m this weekend. Josette Andrews – Women’s 1500m (9:05pm PT Start)
Andrews is quietly having a phenomenal 2025 campaign. She placed sixth in the 5000m at the Rome Diamond League meet last month, running an eye opening 14:25.37. She also won the Penn Relays 1500m race in 4:01.76, just off her PR of 3:59.72 set in 2021, and dominated at the USATF 5 km Championships winning by ten seconds. Andrews will look to attack a sub-4 1500m mark at the Sunset Tour as she tunes up for the USATF Outdoor Championships later this month.
Pamela Kosgei – Women’s 5000m (9:35pm PT Start)
Kosgei, only a freshman at the University of New Mexico, won both the 5000m and 10,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships last month. Recently named one of the three finalists for The Bowerman, Kosgei seems poised to challenge her personal best of 14:52.45 in the 5000m. The 12.5 lap race is arguably the deepest of the Sunset Tour, which should give Kosgei even more motivation to push for both a big PR and…
