Cal Sprints Star Selected To CSC Second Team
California track & field’s Johnny Goode, who earned All-America Honorable Mention status in his first year as a Golden Bear, has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team, the organization announced Wednesday. He joins teammates Caisa-Marie Lindfors (second team) and Audrey Jacobs (third team), who appeared on the Women’s Academic All-America lists released Tuesday.
To be eligible for Academic All-America status, student-athletes must be academic sophomores or above with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a top-50 regional ranking in any event, indoor or outdoor.
During the 2025 track & field season, Goode shattered a 40-year-old program record in the 400m at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a time of 45.02. He also set new Cal records in the indoor 200m, indoor 400m and indoor 4x400m relay.
