Gamecocks Reveal 2025 Cross Country Schedule – University of South Carolina Athletics

COLUMBIA, S.C. (August 7, 2025) – South Carolina has officially announced the 2025 Cross Country slate on Thursday, revealing the seven-meet schedule.

South Carolina will open its schedule with back-to-back meets in North Carolina, beginning on Friday, Aug. 29 with the Covered Bridge Open in Boone, N.C. The meet will commence at 9:15 a.m. Three weeks later, the Gamecocks will head to Raleigh, N.C. for the Adidas XC Challenge hosted by N.C. State on Friday, Sept. 19.

The Garnet & Black will lace up the shoes in two more regular season meets following the stints in North Carolina. The Gamecocks will travel to South Bend, Ind. on Friday, Oct. 3 for a 10:30 a.m. showdown in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite. The regular season will conclude on Friday, Oct. 17 when South Carolina makes the trek to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take part in the Crimson Classic for the second consecutive season and the third time in the last four years.

This year’s edition of the SEC Cross Country Championship will take place on Friday, Oct. 31 in Knoxville, Tenn. The Gamecocks are looking to continue the momentum from last season while searching for their second Top 10 finish in three years.

The Garnet & Black will continue postseason competition as they head to the NCAA Southeast Regional, hosted by Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. on Friday, Nov. 14. This year’s NCAA Championship will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22 in Columbia, Mo.
