Jelelgo Wins ACC Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Athletic Coast Conference announced late Tuesday afternoon that Clemson’s Silvia Jelelgo won the ACC Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week.

In the Furman Invitational four mile, Jelelgo placed first with a time of 21:03.24, finishing 47 seconds before the unattached second-place runner and over a minute before the Furman-attached third place runner. Her efforts led the Tiger women to placing first with a total of 19 points.

This was the second-straight meet that Jelelgo finished at least 40 seconds before the next runner with the first happening at the Eye Opener, where she placed first in the 5K with a time of 16:33.9 (second place runner finished with a time of 17:10.8).

In other news

The USTFCCCA released its 2025 NCAA Division I Cross Country Rankings for week one with Clemson making both lists. The Tiger women remain as the sixth ranked team in the Southeast Region, which is what they were ranked in the preseason. The men, who were ranked 14th in the preseason, have moved up to No. 13 in the Southeast Region.
