Badgers claim six titles in regular season finale


ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Six different Wisconsin track and field throwers won events on Friday at the Augustana Penultimate Qualifier on Friday afternoon at the Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex.

On the men’s side, Jake Schaefer won the discus with a personal-best toss of 187 feet, 8 inches (57.21 meters), a mark that ranks sixth in school history.

Cole Hooper won the hammer throw with a mark of 207-7 (63.28m) while Kyle Clabough took home the shot put crown with a toss of 55-0 3/4 (16.78m)

For the UW women, Tyalor Kesner led a group of six Badgers in the discus with a winning toss of 178-3 (54.35m), a season-best mark for the NCAA champion in the indoor weight throw. 

Danni Langseth won the women’s shot put with a mark of 52-6 3/4 (16.02m) and Morgan Flaska, who was competing unattached, won the hammer with a throw of 177-4 (54.04m).

Up Next: The Badgers enjoy a week off before traveling west to the Big Ten Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The meet is set to take place between Friday, May 16 and Sunday, May 18, as Wisconsin will look to chase a Big Ten Championship to kick off their postseason campaign.
