Croatia loves track and field. The 75th Boris Hanžeković Memorial was no exception. Some spectacular early season performances, as well as a historical performance occured in Zagreb over 22-24 May 2024.
Bayanda Walaza of South Africa, scored a huge win with his 9.94 victory over the 100 meters. Dylan Beard won the 110m hurdles. Payton Otterdahl and Tom Walsh tied with a throw of 21.71m, the actual win went to Otterdahl, due to better second throw. Payton Otterdahl became first man to win shot put without a last name of Walsh or Crouser in Zagreb!
Kristjan ČEH had a huge discus throw of 72.34m!
Sandra ELKASEVIĆ won the discus with a throw of 65.34m. The European and World Champion is looking good this season. Olympic champion Julien Alfred won the 200m in 22.15, with Angelina Topic of Serbia winning the HJ in 1.94m.
