Track and field fans have been treated to a season of several exceptional performances as well as exciting competition in the recent conference championships. After a brief period of recovery, state athletes look towards the challenge of improving their performances to earn team and individual honors in the CIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Classes MM, L, M, S and LL starting on SUNDAY.
The CIAC announced Friday morning that the Class MM meeting originally scheduled for Saturday has been rescheduled to Tuesday starting at 2:00pm due to the weather forecast for Saturday.
CIAC Class Championship competition at Veterans’ Stadium at Willowbrook Park in New Britain starts on Sunday, June 1 featuring Class L at 10:00am followed by Class M at 4:00pm. The competition continues on Monday June 2nd with Class S at 10:00am followed by Class LL at 4:00pm.
Athletes will compete for individual and team honors as well as for the opportunity to qualify for the CIAC State Open Championships on Saturday, 6/7/2025 at Veterans’ Stadium at Willowbrook Park in New Britain starting at 11:00am.

Field Events:
Pole vault, shot put, discus, javelin, long jump and high jump will start simultaneously. The order is as follows:
Girls Javelin followed by Boys Javelin
Boys Discus followed by Girls Discus
Girls Shot followed by Boys Shot
Girls High Jump followed by Boys High Jump
Girls Long Jump followed by Triple Jump
Boys Long Jump followed by Triple Jump
Girls Pole Vault and Boys Pole Vault simultaneously
Team and Event Awards
Teams compete for the Championship and runner-up trophies that will be awarded at each meet based on event scoring of 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
Medals will be awarded for the first six (6) places in all events.
