2024 Stockholm Diamond League Meeting: Duplantis on home soil, Bol first hurdles of the year!

This is the preview of the 2025 Stockholm Diamond League, which will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

STOCKHOLM (SWE): The Wanda Diamond League continue on Sunday with the Stockholm Diamond League (Bauhaus Galan) at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium. Strong fields are assembled with many returning from Oslo on Thursday. A number of Meeting Records are in danger with good weather conditions forecast. The hurdles super trio will meet again now at 400 m hurdles (Warholm, Benjamin, Dos Santos), Duplantis is also back on home soil, also from Oslo Julien Alfred in the 100 m, Femke Bol goes 400 m hurdles. And Usain Bolt will be also present in his first meetings tour in Europe since 2017 retirement. Diamonds are again ready for meet record breakers. It is expected the legendary Olympic Stadium will be sold out.

Event-by-Event Previews

Men

100 m (non-DL): Three sub 10 sprinters in the pre-programme: Azamati, Leotlela and Kyree King.

200m: Reynier Mena of Cuba, who on in Oslo, competes again alongside Joseph Fahnbulleh, Kyree King and Aaron Brown amongst others.

800m: Oslo winner and Olympic Champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi returns as do Djamel Sedjati and Gabriel Tual. This time they are joined by Americans World Indoor Champion Josh Hoey and Bryce Hoppel. Potential for another fast time.

5000m: Cole Hocker, 1500m Olympic Champion, is entered for the 5000m, other notable names include home favourite Andreas Almgren. Selemon Barega has withdrawn.

400H: The big three compete again, this time over 400m hurdles, with Karsten Warholm, Rai Benjamin and Alison dos Santos. Matheus Lima, Alastair Chalmers, Carl Bengstrom and Emil Agyekum also in the field. MR is 46.80 by Alison Dos Santos (2022).

PV: How high will Mondo Duplantis go? The World Record at a home meeting will undoubtedly be on his mind. Joined again by Emmanouil Karalis, Sam Kendricks, Renaud Lavillenie and Kurtis Marschall. They will be joined by the winner of competition in Taby on Saturday (field includes Chris Nilsen and KC Lightfoot).

DT: Kristjan Ceh, Matthew Denny and Olympic Champion Roje Stona headline a strong men’s discus field.

1500m (non-DL): George Mills, who broke the British Record for 5000m in Oslo, drops down to the 1500m, where he faces Samuel Pihlstrom (Swedish Records for 1500m in Rome and mile in Oslo), Narve Gilje Nordas, Federico Riva (Italian Record in Oslo) and 800m specialist Mohamed Attaoui.
