O’Brien and Brady Post All-American Efforts – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

EUGENE, Ore. – Jadin O’Brien and Alaina Brady both posted new personal-best scores in the heptathlon as the pair finished second and fifth, respectively, to earn First Team All-American honors on the final day of competition in the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

The heptathlon competition on Saturday opened up with the long jump. O’Brien tallied a 6.15m (20′ 2.25″) performance on her third jump of the event to gain 896 points to her total. Brady, meanwhile, registered a 5.85m (19′ 2.5″) jump on her third of three jumps to collect 804 points.

The javelin saw O’Brien turn in a 42.75m (140′ 3″) on her first attempt for 720 points. Brady continued her strong weekend with a personal-best mark of 42.02m (137′ 10″) for 706 points.

O’Brien turned in the best time of the second heat of the 800m run to wrap up competition as she posted a time of 2:12.42 for 930 points. Brady ran a 2:17.95 for 852 points.

Jadin O’Brien capped off her illustrious career in an Irish uniform with a new Notre Dame school record and personal-best score of 6256 while finishing as the runner-up in the heptathlon. Alaina Brady reset her personal-best score in the heptathlon with a 5875 to claim fifth place and further solidify her spot in second in the Notre Dame record book.

The pair both garnered First Team All-American honors and posted 12 points to give the Irish women a share of 22nd place in the team standings.
