EUGENE, Ore. (June 18, 2025) – With the postseason over, South Carolina Track & Field now turns its attention to a different level of competition, the USA Track & Field U20 Championships. The two-day event begins on Thursday, June 19 and will conclude on Friday, June 20. The meet will take place in Tracktown USA, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
The Gamecocks will be represented by Joslyn Hamilton from the women’s team and then a trio of athletes from the men’s squad: Devan Crumpton, Elijah Poore and Josiah Wrice.
The trio of freshmen will be the first to kick things off for the Gamecocks this week. Wrice and Crumpton will both compete in the 400m dash, with the opening round taking place on Thursday, June 19 at 6:59 p.m. (ET). The final round will run on Friday, June 20 at 8:01 p.m. (ET). Poore will compete in the 3K steeplechase, running on Thursday, June 19 at 8:47 p.m.
Wrice was named Second Team All-SEC during the outdoor season, finishing runner-up in the 400m sprint after running 45.40. He carries with him a personal best time of 44.99, also run at the SEC Outdoor Championship. Crumpton’s personal best in the 400m is 45.74, ranking seventh in program history. He too scored at the SEC Outdoor Championship, doing so in the 4x400m relay. Crumpton earned Third Team All-SEC honors during the indoor season. Poore ran the fifth fastest steeplechase time in program history at the SEC Outdoor Championship, clocking 9:08.11.
Hamilton will compete in the 100-meter hurdles on Friday, June 20 with the first round taking place at 7:32 p.m. (ET) and the final round commencing at 8:55 p.m. (ET) later that evening. Hamilton is coming off a freshman season in which she advanced to the NCAA East Regionals, running 13.32 in the 100mH. She also scored at the SEC Outdoor Championship in the 100mH, posting a time of 13.35 to place seventh overall.
