The Marathon Trials, which will be held for the 15th time for Men (first in 1968) and 11th time for Women (first in 1984), is a wonderous event and is one of the favorite events for true fans of American distance running. There had been some concern regarding the candidates for the Olympic Marathon Team Trials, but two strong candidates declared themselves, and USATF and USOPC picked Orlando.
The City of Orlando, the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, the event team at Track Shack, and Jon & Betsy Hughes will be responsible for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for the Marathon. Jon & Betsy Hughes and their team at Track Shack put on up to 50 races a year, including the Disney Marathon & Half Marathon. They know how to put an event together and celebrate the finest runners in our country, who come together once every four years to see who can will the Olympic team.

Orlando will play host to the 2024 U. S. Olympic Team Trials — Marathon, USATF, and the USOPC announced (November 8, 2022).
INDIANAPOLIS–Held on February 3, 2024, the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon will be the selection event for the USATF Team at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The top three female and male place finishers in the Olympic Trials who have met qualifying performance standards will self-select for the 2024 USATF Olympic squad.
