Registration Open for 2023 Duke Track & Field and Cross Country Camps

DURHAM – Registration for the 2023 Duke track & field and cross country summer camps is now open.

Held at Morris Williams Stadium on the campus of Duke University, this camp is designed to provide high schoolers (9th-12th grade) with individualized instruction tailored to their skill level while elevating their performance for their specific event area on the track, ensuring a knowledgeable and fun week of training. The track and field camp is scheduled for July 10-13, while the cross country camp will take place a week later from July 17-20.

“I’m extremely excited to host the 2023 Duke Track and Field Camp and the Duke Cross Country Camp this coming summer,” said Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Shawn Wilbourn. “We have high level coaches committed to working with us this summer, and  I feel we bring a level of high-capacity learning at our camps that others can’t provide. We plan to provide an experience for our campers that they will remember for the rest of their lives.”

Camp is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to state champions. Attendees will be divided into groups based on the specific event area of their choosing, which include sprints and hurdles, jumps (long, triple and high), throws (shot put, hammer, discus, and javelin), distance (middle distance and cross country) and pole vault.

The total cost of the overnight four-day camp is $795, which includes camp instruction from Duke track and field coaches and student-athletes, accommodations, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and a Nike t-shirt. An extended day option (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) is also available for $595.

Make sure to sign up fast as spots are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis – the 2022 edition of camp sold out by March. Camp registration officially opens on January 1, 2023, but you can join the waitlist TODAY to secure your spot.
