Track & Field Travels to Bloomington for Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Michigan State track & field travels to Bloomington, Indiana this weekend for the Indiana Invitational on April 21 and 22. Action gets underway on Friday at 5 p.m.

Live results will be available on MSUSpartans.com.

This weekend will be the first of two trips to Bloomington for the Spartans, as Indiana will host the Big Ten Outdoor Championships from May 12 to May 14.

The Spartans will have all event groups in action this weekend, beginning on Friday with the men’s hammer throw at 5 p.m. and wrapping up the first day of competition with the men’s 5000m. Saturday will begin with the men’s 4×100 relay at 1:30 p.m. and end with the men’s 4×400 relay.

MSU heads into the weekend after recording a number of impressive performances in a trio of meets in California, highlighted by school records from Trevor Stephenson in the pole vault and Heath Baldwin in the heptathlon. Stephenson will be back in action this weekend, competing at 6 p.m. on Friday. This weekend also marks the first appearance for the Spartans’ distance contingent since the Spartan Invitational on March 31, and the first meet back for MSU’s sprinters and hurdlers since the Duke Invitational on April 8.

Up next, the Spartans travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the historic Penn Relays from April 27 to 29 and the Music City Challenge in Nashville on April 28 and 29. MSU then has a week off before the Big Ten Outdoor Championships.
