WAKE FOREST, NC. – The Fighting Irish distance squad wrapped up a successful day long meet at Wake Forest University where the posted multiple new personal bests.
In the women’s 5000 meter run Katie Rose Blachowicz finished with a time of 16:50.99. Caroline Lehman also represented the Irish with a time of 16:54.74. For Lehman, this finish established a new personal record.
Katie Thronson led the Irish in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase. She took home the event title with a time of 9:48.54 and claimed a personal best. Teammate Sophie Novak took third place with a time of 9:56.01 and also earned herself a new personal record. Anna Sophia Keller rounded out the scoring for the Irish where she took fifth place at 10:08.56.
On the men’s side, Nick Miller and Jackson Storey ran in the 800 meter run. Miller finished at 1:49.87 and Storey crossed the finish line at 1:50.14. In the men’s 1500 meter run, Daelen Ackley represented the Irish where he took a time of 3:41.83.
In the men’s 5000 meter run, Carter Solomon led the Irish with a time of 13:47.46. Teammate Kevin Berry was right behind with a time of 13:50.86 and Ethan Coleman followed with a time of 14:01.92. Jake Renfree crossed the finish line with a time of 14:19.01.
Robbie Cozean represented the Irish in the 10000 meter run with a time of 30:02.71. This performance earned him a personal best.
The men’s 3000 meter steeplechase saw CJ Singleton take second place with a time of 8:49.73. Not only did he take second place, he also earned a new personal best on the day. Teammates Henry Chapman and Quinn Gallagher also ran in the steeplechase. Chapman crossed the finish line at 8:51.12 and Gallagher finished with a time of 9:16.94.
The Irish are back in action next weekend when they take on multiple meets. They will be represented at the Drake Relays, Penn Relays, and the Texas Invitational.
