Gong Lijiao successfully defended her title in the women’s shot put at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha. Gong threw out to 19.55m to claim gold and has won 12 of the 13 events she has entered this year. Jamaican Danniel Thomas-Dodd earned silver, with Christina Schwanitz taking bronze.
