Alex Babbington | SR., Men’s Track & Field | Major: Management: Entrepreneurship

Senior Alex Babbington punched his ticket to the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at the NCAA West Preliminaries in Sacramento, Calif. 

Babbington qualified in the high jump with a personal best and the program’s fourth-highest clearance of 2.14m (7-0 1/4). He will now advance to the national meet, set for June 7-10 in Austin, Texas, Babbington is the first Illini high jumper to make it to the nationals since Jonathan Wells in 2021. 

Babbington is a senior from Plainfield, Ill., studying studying Industrial Design.
