Klingenberg and Skyers named to SEC Community Service Team


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt sophomore Ashley Klingenberg and redshirt junior Osaji Skyers were named to this year’s Southeastern Conference Track and Field Community Service Team on Thursday.

Klingenberg has spent over 33.75 hours giving back to the community. She has volunteered at the local hospital and helped coordinate and take part in a local program delivering shoes to in need children in the community. Klingenberg has also worked with Special Olympics Florida and other inclusion programs.

Skyers has completed 16.5 hours of community service. He has volunteered with the Gators Lunch Buddies program and spent time helping to promote the importance of books and education in the community. Skyers has also dedicated extensive time mentoring children in the local community.

The conference names a Community Service Team for each of its league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his or her community through superior service efforts.
