EUGENE, Ore. – The Ducks’ indoor campaign continues this weekend with the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. The SEC Network+ broadcast will begin each day with the start of the running events.
Oregon is part of a loaded field at the two-day meet that is scheduled to feature 19 ranked men’s and women’s teams. In addition to host Arkansas, the 16-team field also includes Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Iowa State, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, St. Augustine, Texas A&M and USC.
Jett Kinder is scheduled as the first Duck in action with day one of the heptathlon starting at 9:35 a.m. (PT). The pentathlon with Taylor Chocek and Gianna Bullock begins shortly thereafter at 9:45 a.m. with the 60-meter hurdles. Chocek enters the meet with a best of 4,075 points, good for fourth in program history, and Bullock carries a best of 3,823 points, another top-10 UO mark.
For the Ducks, day one of the Razorback Invitational features additional field action in the men’s high jump and weight throw, and women’s pole vault and long jump. Mason Strunk, entered in the weight throw, owns the No. 2 measure (20.84m/68-4.5) on the UO top-10 list.
The women’s distance-medley relay will close out Friday night’s schedule at 5:30 p.m. (PT). The Ducks will also have entries in the men’s mile and women’s 200 meters.
With five top-10 national marks on their ledger, the Women of Oregon checked in at No. 8 in the first USTFCCCA rankings of the season. Jaida Ross enters Saturday’s shot put with the No. 2 measure in the nation at 18.18m/59-7.75 from her season opener at the UW Preview. Klaudia Kazimierska and Maddy Elmore own the No. 3 and 5 times in the mile, respectively, while Jadyn Mays ranks seventh in the 60 meters.
Elmore is also fifth nationally at 3,000 meters with her school-record 8:50.43 at the BU Season Opener.
Last time out, the Ducks collected eight wins at the UW Preview (Jan. 13) in Seattle. Oregon also posted five top-10 program marks with efforts from Kazimierska and Elmore in the mile, James Harding in the 600 meters, Annika Williams in the high jump and Ryann Porter in the triple jump.
