Tigers Complete Final Day of NCAA Indoor Championships – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

BOSTON, Mass. – Clemson officially wrapped up the 2024 indoor season as they finished out the final day of the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston. Overall, two Tigers secured their place on the podium as Marie Forbes and Tarees Rhoden both became back-to-back First Team All-Americans while eight Tigers were named Second Team All-Americans.

“We had a lot of people be named All-American and each individual performed well in their events,” Track and Field Director Mark Elliot said. “Team finish wise, while we did not achieve what our goals were, having ten individuals qualify for the NCAA Championships is a large amount so it shows we are headed in the right direction nationally as a program. Now we turn our attention to the outdoor season.”

Starting the day off for the Tigers was Courtney Lawrence as he represented Clemson in the men’s shot put. Finishing in the top nine, Lawrence advanced to the finals after the first three flights. Lawrence was named Second Team All-American after throwing 18.94m to secure ninth-place.

In the finals of the men’s 800 meter, Tarees Rhoden secured his place on the podium as he crossed the line at 1:47.79 to earn fifth-place overall and be named First Team All-American for the second consecutive indoor season.

The last event for the Tigers was the women’s triple jump as Shantae Foreman rounded out the day for Clemson. Jumping 13.16m, Foreman secured 12th place overall and was named Second Team All-American.

With the indoor season complete, the Tigers will move on to the outdoor portion of the 2024 campaign as their first outdoor meet is the UCF Black and Gold Invitational in Orlando, Fla. Events begin on Friday, March 15 and end on Saturday, March 16.
