CLEMSON, S.C. – After her impressive and historic performances this past weekend at Penn Relays, junior thrower Marie Forbes was named the ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Forbes has had an impressive 2023-2024 campaign as she shined in the indoor season and is continuing her success in the outdoor portion of the schedule as well. While competing at Penn Relays this past weekend, Forbes recorded two, first-place finishes to be crowned the champion in both the women’s hammer throw and the women’s discus.
The Tiger became the first woman since at least 2000 to win both the hammer throw and discus in the same year.
In the rankings, Forbes is currently ranked third in the ACC and No. 14 in the nation in the discus. In the hammer throw, Forbes is second in the ACC and is ranked No. 23 in the nation.
