Florida Sends 21 to NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships


EUGENE, Ore. – The final meet of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field season is upon us as the No. 3/5 Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams travel to Eugene, Oregon for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
 
The National Championship is a four-day event spanning from Wednesday, June 5 to Saturday, June 8. All four days of the competition will be nationally televised with the first three days of action being aired on ESPN while the final day is set for ESPN.
 
The Gators have earned a total of 14 National Championships (7 Indoor/7 Outdoor) throughout the program’s history, 13 of which have come under the guidance of Head Coach Mike Holloway.
 
During Mike Holloway‘s time as the Men’s Head Coach the team has captured six NCA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, all of which have occurred in back-to-back fashion (2012 & 2013, 2016 & 2017, 2022 & 2023). The men’s team also boasts eight runner-up finishes during Holloway’s tenure.
 

Additionally, the men’s program has totaled 49 individual event titles during the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships across the program’s history.
 

The women’s program has earned one NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship which occurred in 2022 when they swept both the Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
 
The women boast 27 individual event titles in the program’s history, 15 of which have come under Coach Holloway’s guidance.

LAST TIME OUT
Athletes punched their ticket to the National Championships during the Gators trip to Lexington, Kentucky where they competed at the NCAA East Preliminaries.
 
A total of 21 (13 men, 8 women) secured their spots in Eugene, Oregon by navigating through the opening, quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of their respective events.
