EUGENE, Ore. – Twin sisters Amanda and Hana Moll came to play today at the Olympic Trials, as the youngest competitors in the final of 13 women. Amanda cleared a lifetime-best mark and Hana cleared the same height as the two finished fifth and sixth, respectively, at Hayward Field.
Â
The two each came up a couple places and a couple heights short of qualifying for Team USA for the Olympics. Today was the final day of the Olympic Trials.
Â
The Olympia, Wash. products both entered at the opening height of 14-0 ½ and both cleared it back-to-back, as the first two jumpers in the order. They both then had first attempt makes at 14-6 ¼.
Â
At the third bar, 14-10 ÂĽ, both sisters had first attempt misses but then got up and over on their second attempts, as the field went down to eight women.
Â
The next height was 15-2 ÂĽ. Hana missed on her first attempt but Amanda became the first to clear, brushing the bar but leaving it up. It was a new PR for Amanda, and her first time over 15-feet since January of 2023. On her second attempt, Hana also cleared that height, just a fraction of an inch below her own PR.
Â
The bar then climbed to 15-4 ÂĽ, and neither Moll was able to reach that height today, as four women continued up, and the top height cleared would end up being 15-6 ÂĽ, equal to the Olympic Standard.
