Boos Punches Ticket to NCAAs

Annie Boos became the third member of the Orange to punch her ticket to the NCAA Championships on Saturday night by taking third in her heat of the 3000-meter steeplechase.

Boos joins Jaheem Hayles (110H) and Nathan Henderson (1500) in qualifying for the NCAA Championship meet, which begins on June 8 in Eugene, Oregon.

Boos earned her spot automatically with her heat finish. Auburn’s Joyce Kimeli won the heat in 9:55.65), followed by Duke’s Emily Cole (10:01.37) and then Boos in 10:03.16. She comfortably qualified by besting the fourth-place finisher by more than two seconds.

Her race concludes the Orange’s stay at the NCAA East Prelims. The Orange are back in action from June 8-11.
