Buckeye Men Send Eight Individual Qualifiers and Two Relay Squads to Nationals – Ohio State Buckeyes

RESULTS

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team completed the men’s regional finals on Friday in Bloomington, Ind. The Buckeye men qualified a total of seven individuals in eight individual events, plus both the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay, to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

NATIONAL QUALIFIERS

  • Eric Harrison won his heat of the 200m (20.31), finishing fourth overall, to earn an automatic spot at the NCAA Championships. Harrison first qualified in the 100m, running a 10.21 to nab the final qualifying spot based on time.
  • Shaun Miller Jr. qualified to compete in the high jump in Eugene after finishing atop of the standings by clearing 2.18m on his first attempt.
  • Tyler Johnson finished second in his heat of the 400m (45.49) to earn an automatic spot at the NCAA Championships. His time was good for fifth overall.
  • Tanner Watson advanced to the NCAA Championships in the discus throw with a best throw of 56.83m, finishing seventh overall.
  • Both the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay squads qualified to run at nationals. The Buckeyes’ 4x400m relay finished second in the heat and eighth overall (3:04.08), while the 4x100m relay finished third in the heat (39.63).
  • Kentre Patterson advanced in the 110m hurdles (13.62), finishing ninth overall with the fastest time among non-automatic qualifiers.
