Tuohy Named ACC Indoor Track Performer of the Year

RALEIGH – Katelyn Tuohy has been named the 2023 ACC Indoor Track Performer of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.

Tuohy is coming off of an incredible indoor season in which she set two NCAA records, and earned multiple individual championships.

At the second event of her indoor season, Tuohy claimed the NCAA record for the mile, submitting a time of 4:24.26 at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge. Two weeks later, the Stony Point, NY native set another NCAA record, this time running a time of 8:35.20 in the 3000m at the Millrose Games.

After a record-setting regular season, Tuohy claimed the individual ACC Championship for the 3000m with a time of 8:51.92. She then went on to claim the individual national championship for the 3000m and the 5000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 9:10.07 and 16:09.65, respectively.

Tuohy helped guide the women’s team to sixth place in the final national rankings, their highest finish in program history.
