SEATTLE –
The Distance Dawgs are ready for their second test of the season. Tomorrow, Oct. 13, Washington will race in likely the toughest fields outside of the national championships, running over the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisc. in the annual Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. Runnerspace will be providing a live stream of the racing.
The championship women’s race will be first to run, at 9 a.m. Pacific time, followed by the men’s championship at 9:40 a.m. A women’s open race will feature some more Huskies at 10:20 a.m.
The fields feature 22 of the 30 ranked teams on both the men’s and women’s sides, which includes the 8th-ranked UW women. The women’s race has seven of the top-10 teams in the country, while the men’s race has eight of the top-10.
The women have 10 on the trip, of which seven will run in the championship race. The group includes Ella Borsheim, Alyssia Brown, Julia David-Smith, Rosalie Fish, Chloe Foerster, Tori Herman, Sophie O’Sullivan, Naomi Smith, India Weir and Kosana Weir.
Seven Husky men are in Madison: Sam Affolder, James Crabtree, Leo Daschbach, Jamar Distel, Tyrone Gorze, Luke Houser, and Ronan McMahon-Staggs, the UCLA All-American on the track who would be making his Husky debut.
