Our ACP report from Perth in April 2022
International ultra running will return to Scotland in 2024.
The annual 100K Home International event, the Anglo Celtic Plate, will be staged in Perth on Sunday 24 March with Scotland as the host nation.
There is also the chance for open entries at both 100K and 50K for those looking to test themselves at these distances. Both distances will also incorporate the British and Scottish 100km and 50km road championships for 2024.
As well as attracting some of the country’s leading ultra runners, the event also draws runners of all standards keen to challenge themselves over the classic 100K distance.
The 50K (31.1 miles) distance is an ideal stepping stone for marathon runners wishing to try an ultra without having to adapt training too much. Both distances are also an ideal event if you are aiming for a longer ultra later in the summer.
The races utilise a certified, traffic-free loop course at the North Inch Park in Perth, on the banks of the River Tay, and offer the perfect opportunity for fast times and PBs.
In recognition of the historical quality of performances, and the excellent organisation, the event has received Silver Label status from the International Association of Ultrarunners.

‘The Anglo Celtic Plate venue alternates annually between the Home Nations and Ireland,’ said Race Co-ordinator Adrian Stott.
‘I am delighted the event is returning to Perth in the spring and look forward to our own Sri Chinmoy club working with the scottishathletics events team and the wider Scottish ultra community to put on another great event.
‘Participation in ultra events is very much on the rise. The ACP, held as it is on a loop course at the North Inch in Perth, is a superb venue to showcase ultra running.’
