Joseph Announces Track & Field, Cross Country Staff – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Rosalind Joseph announced her complete coaching staff on Monday.

The staff includes the retention of full-time coaches Sara Mason Vergote, Joel Brown, Travis Coleman and Victor Houston, as well as director of operations, Fred Barends. Also staying on the Buckeyes staff are the three volunteer assistants, Richard Ebin, Eric Brill and Tommy Hampton. Joining the staff in a full-time role is Diego Flaquer, who will also coach the sprints/hurdles events.

“I’m excited to announce the retention of Coach Joel Brown as Associate Head Coach (sprints/hurdles) of the program along with Coach Travis Coleman (throws) and Coach Victor Houston (jumps/multi) with the program,” Joseph said. “I’m also excited to retain and elevate Coach Sara Mason Vergote to the position of Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country coach for the program. The championship results of previous years are proof of the chemistry and caliber of this staff assembled by Coach Karen Dennis and I look forward to continuing the winning tradition with them in place.”

Mason Vergote was promoted to head cross country coach on July 7 and will solely oversee all aspects of the men’s and women’s cross country, distance and mid-distance student-athletes. She will continue to serve as an assistant track & field coach as well.
