Cross Country Travels to Iona Meet of Champions


PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers cross country will travel to Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, New York for the Iona Meet of Champions on Friday, Sept. 16. Fans can click here to follow the action with live results. 
  
The Scarlet Knights competed at the Big Ten Preview in Ann Arbor, Michigan last week which was highlighted by a top-20 finish from Alex Carlson who placed 18th in the women’s 6k with a time of 21:48.5.
 
Kassidy Johnson and Sofia Condron crossed the finish line shortly after with Johnson placing 23rd with a time of 22:02.7 and Condron placing 27th with a time of 22:09.9, giving Rutgers three top-30 finishes for the women’s team.
 
For the men’s team, Justin Cornetta was the team’s top point-scorer, placing 29th with a time of 18:48.5. Alec Snell and William Hare finished in the top-50 with Snell placing 43rd and Hare finishing 48th.
 
The Scarlet Knights will have a week off from competition following Iona before making their return to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to compete in the Paul Short Run on Friday, Sept. 30.
