No fewer than 22 athletes will share £4000 in prize-money via our Road Race Series Grand Prix.
The Tru Wealth Scottish Half Marathon Champs at the Great Scottish Run concluded the series, which was over four races for 2022 (with no marathon champs contested).
In all, 20 different men will receive money from scottishathletics in a wide split of the allocated £2000 while two women, Annabel Simpson of Fife AC and Shettleston’s Fionnuala Ross, split the full amount in the Women’s division.
Jonny Glen of Inverclyde led the way for the men with 10 shares and will receive £270 with James Donald of Dundee Hawkhill Harriers to land £189 for his seven shares.
Annabel in fact receives over £1263 with Fionnuala awarded £736 after a strong performance at the Great Scottish Run. Annabel had delivered A standards runs at the Tom Scott 10-Mile and the Roon the Toon 10k as well as B standard run at the Sri Chinmoy 5k at Silverknowes.
In all, there were 93 ‘shares’ achieved by those 22 athletes chasing A and B target times set for the four races.
Well done to these athletes and their coaches and clubs – and thank you to race organisers and volunteers involved in the Road Race Series GP events for 2022.
