Central AC and Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds will look to extend their dominance as Scotland’s top teams in cross country relays.
The Lindsays National XC Relays return to the familiar surroundings of Cumbernauld with a huge entry received for the four races at the North Lanarkshire venue.
And Central AC Senior Men and Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds Senior Women will hope for repeat podium places come Saturday afternoon.
Perth’s Scone Palace was the backdrop last October but it didn’t alter the sequence as Central AC made it three-in-a-row in terms of Men’s golds.
The East District champions are this year bidding to make it nine victories in 10 instalments of the championships, with Inverclyde AC the only interlopers (in 2017).
Giffnock North are the West champions again this year and will seek to threaten after seeing off strong teams from Inverclyde and Kilbarchan at Kings Park two weekends ago.

In the Senior Women’s division, the green-clad students of Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds, once again also East champions, are bidding to make it six-in-a-row after success at Scone last year.
Shettleston are the West champions while Highland Hill Runners will represent the North in the Senior Women’s race (with Inverness Harriers likewise in the Senior Men’s race).
There was Highland success in the Young Females race last year as Inverness Harriers broke the mould with an excellent team effort.
Giffnock North are always strong in these races and that’s backed up by a record in the Young Males race which features four wins in the last four championships. Expect a strong five-in-a-row bid from those in yellow and blue on Saturday.
Defending champions (from Perth 2021) in the Masters age group are Hunters Bog Trotters women and Edinburgh AC men.
Defending champions in the M50 race are Perth Road Runners, after winning on home turf last year, and Giffnock North are our current W50 champions.

Senior/Junior/Masters women: 1.20pm over 4 x 4k
