SEATTLE – For the first time in over a year and a half, the Huskies will get to race a cross country meet at home. Friday, Washington hosts the NCAA West Regional Championships as more than thirty teams converge on Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash. to try and earn tickets to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Washington, ranked 14th nationally on the men’s side and 16th nationally on the women’s side, is hosting the West Regional meet for the first time since 2017, and for the first time at Chambers Creek Regional Park. It will be the second championship meet at the course for the Huskies, as UW last hosted the spring 2021 Pac-12 Championships at the site. That was the team’s most recent home appearance, aside from one dual meet with Seattle U. at Magnuson Park last fall.

Spectators were not permitted during the 2021 Pac-12 Championships, but fans are welcomed back on Friday. Admission and parking are free and directions to the course can be found here.

The women’s 6,000-meters championship will go off at 10 a.m. followed by the men’s 10,000-meters at 11 a.m.

The West Region includes 10 of the 12 Pac-12 teams, plus many members from the Mountain West Conference, the West Coast Conference, the Western Athletic Conference, the Big Sky Conference, and the Big West Conference.
