Katelyn Tuohy earns ACC, USTFCCCA honors after breaking NCAA record

RALEIGH For the second time in two weeks NC State’s Katelyn Tuohy brought home multiple Indoor Track and Field honors.

Over the weekend at the Millrose Games in New York, Tuohy set an NCAA record in the 3K, finishing in 8:35.20.

On Tuesday Tuohy was named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week, as well as the ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week.

Tuohy doubled up on both honors on January 31 when she set an NCAA record in the mile, finishing with a time of 4:24.26.

In December, she ran the 5000m in 15:15.92 at the Boston University Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener. That mark is currently No. 1 in the nation. Tuohy now holds the top three marks nationally in the 5000m, the mile and now the 3000m.

In just two seasons, Tuohy already has two NCAA titles (outdoor 5000m, cross country) and is a six-time All-American.
