GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Katelyn Tuohy’s second NCAA record of the 2022-23 Indoor Track and Field season highlights the achievements of this week’s ACC Performer of the Week honorees, and the NC State redshirt sophomore is joined by three more student-athletes who rank among the nation’s elite.
ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Katelyn Tuohy, NC State
Two weeks after setting the NCAA record in the women’s mile, Tuohy set a new collegiate mark in the women’s 3,000 meters with a time of 8:35.20 during Saturday’s Millrose Games in New York City. Competing in her home state, Tuohy shattered the previous mark of 8:41.60 set in 2018 by Karissa Schweizer of Missouri. Tuohy currently leads the nation in three events (also the 5,000 meters in addition to her two NCAA record-setters).
ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Cameron Miller, Louisville
Miller set a Louisville school record in the men’s 200 for the third time this season in placing first at the Tiger Paw Invite hosted by Clemson. Miller’s time of 20.33 led a highly competitive field that featured seven athletes who boasted top-16 times in the 200m entering the weekend. The performance also stands as a new facility record at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex and places Miller second nationally in the event this season.
ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Jeremiah Davis, Florida State
Competing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Davis earned ACC weekly honors for the fourth time this season after pushing his world-leading mark in the long jump to an incredible 8.28 meters (27-2) at the Dan Kirby Invitational. Davis outdistanced a field of more than 50 competitors.
ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Synclair Savage, Louisville
Savage earned fourth place in the women’s long jump at the Tiger Paw Invite with a leap of 6.39m (20-11.75). The junior from Kennesaw, Georgia, has now bested the previous Louisville school record of 6.27m (20-7) heading into this season in all three of her competitions in 2022-23, culminating in a jump of 6.52m (21-4.75) at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational that currently stands sixth nationally. This past weekend’s mark – coming amidst a field of 60 competitors and 10 of the nation’s top-20 teams – ties for 12th best so far this season
