Track and Field Primed for 2023 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays


COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri track and field team will continue its outdoor season at the 95th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The Tigers will have 26 athletes competing in the four-day event starting Thursday and going through Saturday. The competition will be broadcast on ESPN+

Missouri will get a first glimpse at Mike A. Myers Stadium, the venue for the NCAA Championships in June.

TEXAS RELAYS

  • Senior Sophia Rivera, the nation’s leader and Missouri school record holder in the javelin, will be back in action for her second competition this season.
  • Joining Rivera in the Tigers’ deepest event will be Skylar Ciccolini, Atina Kamasi and Valentina Bornacelli each of whom ranks top 10 in program history.
  • Sophomore Isabella Sokolova, who holds the program’s ninth-fastest time in the 100-meter hurdles enters the meet after setting a personal best of 14.04 at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
  • Claudina Diaz is set to compete in the high jump, Diaz matched Missouri’s seventh-best all-time mark at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
  • Arianna Fisher, Maura Hausler and Euphenie Andre, all of who hold top-five program marks will lead the Tigers in the triple jump.
  • Kaia Harris rounds out the top-10 performers for the Missouri women in the discus
  • On the men’s side, Roberto Vilches makes an appearance in the high jump. The four-time All-American ranks second on Missouri’s leaderboard at 2.27m.
  • Mitch Weber continues his SEC title defense in the discus throw on Friday, Weber holds the Tiger’s second all-time best mark in the event at 60.99m.
  • Rece Rowan, whose personal best ranks ninth on Mizzou’s leaderboard will also compete in the event.
  • Georgi Nachev will make his season debut in the triple jump, the senior finished ninth at the NCAA Championships a season ago.
  • Freshman Robert Hines, senior Jayson Ashford, senior Blake Hays and sophomore La’Rue Martin will represent the Tigers’ lone relay team over the weekend in the men’s 4x100m.

LAST TIME OUT: RALEIGH RELAYS

  • Senior Christopher Conrad claimed first in the men’s 800m with a 1:47.86 time — just shy of his personal best which ranks fifth all-time in Missouri history.
  • Conrad set another personal-best time in the men’s 1500m, running in 3:46.63.
