Cougars wrap up day two of Texas Relays


AUSTIN, Texas — Lee Walburn’s Cougar decathlon debut highlighted the first two days of the Texas Relays for Washington State track and field. Walburn posted a personal best time in both the 100m dash (11.01) and 110m hurdles (15.33) en route to a career-high 7,322 points and fifth-place finish. 

 

Freshman Parker Duskin notched a season-best time in men’s timed 400m hurdles (57.17) while Mackenzie Fletcher posted a season-best time of 1:00.79 in the women’s 400m timed event to finish 12th-overall. 

 

UP NEXT: The Cougars open the Texas Relays on Friday with the men’s 4×100 relay at 8 a.m.. A little farther south in San Marcos, at the Bobcat Invitational, the women’s 400m hurdles kicks off at 2 p.m. Finally, in northern California, the javelin throw leads the morning events at 9 a.m.
