PITTSBURGH – The Panthers showed up this past week with Pitt baseball taking the win against No. 11 Miami during game two of the weekend series and track and field showing strong performances at the 2023 Outdoor ACC Championships. Baseball’s high performer Kyle Hess and women’s track and field Foluke Olujide-Ajibade have earned PNC Achiever of the Week status from their stellar performances.
Hess hit a grand slam, two-run triple and robbed a three-run home run on senior day. The Mount Joy, PA native drove in six of Pitt’s seven runs that day as well. Overall, the graduate student hit .412 with 2 home runs, 2 triples, 1 double and 10 RBI during this past week – earning season multiple highs.
Olujide-Ajibade secured a fourth place overall in the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 59.37m at the 2023 ACC Outdoor Championships. The Dublin, OH native is currently seventh in the ACC and ranked 60th in the NCAA. The Junior also currently holds the second highest mark in the women’s hammer throw in Pitt’s program history.
