Cross Country Releases 2023 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Coming off the best combined season in program history, the University of North Carolina men’s and women’s cross country teams have released their 2023 schedules.

The Tar Heel women and men both finished in the top 10 at the 2022 NCAA Championships. The women finished fifth at the ’22 NCAA meet, their best finish in history. The UNC men finished 10th, their second-best finish ever and best since the 1985 team was fifth.

With significant talent returning to both rosters from last autumn, Carolina looks to continue the program’s momentum in 2023.

Carolina will begin its season at the Charlotte Invitational on Sept. 1, then travel to nearby Cary for the adidas XC Challenge, hosted by NC State on Sept. 15. The following weekend, the Tar Heels will head to Charlottesville, Va., site of the 2023 NCAA Championships, for the Sept. 23 Virginia Invitational.

In October, UNC will travel to the prestigious Nuttycombe Invitational, which is typically filled with some of the best teams in the nation, on the 13th. Two weeks later on Oct. 27, Florida State University will host the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in Tallahassee.

After one more tune-up event at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., on Nov. 3, Carolina will head to the NCAA Southeast Regoinal Championships in Spartanburg, S.C.

The University of Virginia will host the 2023 NCAA Championships in Charlottesville on Nov. 18.
