Lockhart Joins Track & Field Staff as Senior Team Administrator – Texas A&M Athletics

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M track & field head coach Pat Henry announced the addition of Josh Lockhart to the staff as senior team administrator Thursday. He stays within the A&M athletics department, moving from internal operations.
 

“I am happy to introduce Josh Lockhart to the Aggie track & field community,” Henry said. “Josh has been working in internal operations and has an understanding of our department and program. He now takes on the challenge of helping our program to operate as we are accustomed and we know he will challenge himself to become the best at what he does.”
 

“I feel privileged that Coach Henry selected me to join his staff,” Lockhart said. “I’ve always envisioned myself being a part of a program with a rich athletic history and A&M has that in abundance. I am thrilled to begin working with the coaches and support staff who provide exceptional assistance and guidance for their student-athletes.”
 

Before making the trip to Aggieland, Lockhart served as a director of operations at Rutgers. He gained valuable experience in collegiate track & field and cross country through his year-long stint with the Scarlet Knights. Lockhart handled day-to-day operations, organized events and facilities, coordinated travel and collaborated with a multitude of departments to ensure the program operated at the highest capacity for athletes and coaches.
 

His college experience began in Storrs, Connecticut, where received both his undergraduate degree, urban & community service, and master’s degree, sport management from the University of Connecticut. Lockhart continued to serve as an athletic administrative assistant for the UConn Athletic Director’s office. Here he learned and develop a skillset which set a benchmark for his roles at Rutgers, Texas A&M internal operations and now A&M track & field.
 

Lockhart’s experience in facility management from his time with Rutgers will pay dividends with A&M’s premier facilities, including the construction of the new indoor track & field facility and E. B. Cushing Stadium. He also brings a great understanding of and familiarity with the track & field world having been a track student-athlete at UConn.
 
His appointment replaces long-time Senior Team Administrator Brian Bancroft.
