UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State track and field team will compete at Michigan in the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 20. Events are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in the U-M Indoor Track Building.

The Simmons-Harvey Invitational will be scored by team, operating the same as a conference or national championship meet. The top six individual finishers in each event will be awarded team points while the top five relay groups will also score points for their respective schools.

Penn State recorded six top-five program marks last weekend at the Nittany Lion Challenge. Cheickna Traore’s 46.50 400-meter time was the fastest recorded in all of Division I this season and he took home Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors because of the performance.

In addition to Traore’s 400-meter mark, the Nittany Lions earned top-five program marks in the women’s 600, 1K, and pole vault, as well as the men’s 60 and weight throw events. Penn State’s squad seeks to continue its success from its home-opening meet into Saturday’s meet at Michigan.
