CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior heptathlete Ilse Steigenga has been tabbed as the ACC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the second instance this season, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

In the first heptathlon competition of the outdoor campaign, Steigenga posted a new personal best of 5544 points, propelling her from fourth to second in the all-time top-10 program standings. The senior posted new personal bests in three of the seven heptathlon events; the shot put, javelin throw, and 800-meter race. A native of the Netherlands, Steigenga earned 927 points by winning the long jump with a mark of 6.25-meters.
