The USC Track and Field team will be competing at the Oxy Invitational to be held at Occidental College at Jack Kemp Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. on May 4. The Trojan men are ranked No. 7 and the women No. 18 in this week’s USTFCCCA national rankings. The Trojans added this meet for certain athletes to get in some important competition in preparation for the Pac-12 Championships to be held next week.
Among the schools sending athletes seeking one last chance to post a mark or time prior to the beginning of conference championships season are: Azusa Pacific, Biola, Cal Poly, Chapman, LMU, Occidental, Pepperdine, Portland State, Redlands, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Soka, UC Santa Barbara and various track clubs and professional athletes.
Trojans expected to compete at the Oxy Invitational are:
Women: Alyssa Blockburger (800m), Ahnyx Bush (TJ), Kamryn Elgersma (JT), Jada Gatlin (TJ), Jasmine Jones (100m H, 400m H), Gigi Maccagnini (800m), Marina Soares (3000m SC).
Men: Jacob Andrews (400m), Johnnie Blockburger (400m), Johnny Brackins Jr. (110m H, 400m H), Jaelen Knox (200m), Travis Williams (100m).
The Trojans will next be in action at the Pac-12 Championships hosted by Colorado on May 10-12 at Potts Field in Boulder, Colo.
