We all know cross country success in October and November begins during the summer. Besides just running mileage, many of the top distance runners also work on resistance training to improve resilience to injury, enhanced running economy, and overall strength gains that will lead to strong performance in the fall and beyond.

Rich Marcello, (MS, CSCS), has been a high school coach at Weston and Newtown and a collegiate cross country and track coach at Quinnipiac University, SUNY Oneonta and Southern New Hampshire University and is a certified strength & conditioning coach.

Coach Marcello will design a program that is individually designed to enhance your strength & conditioning, specifically targeting high school and collegiate distance runners, ensuring you excel this fall XC season. This fun and comprehensive 8-week program will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 24th- August 16th at 10 am at the Pioneer Performance Center at Sacred Heart University’s campus at 4000 Park Avenue in Bridgeport.

The fee is $350 for 16 one hour sessions.

The program will begin with a Biomechanical Analysis using the cutting-edge 3D Markerless Motion Capture Gait Analysis and Running Movement Assessments, coupled with pre- and post Strength and Power Testing, pinpointing areas for targeted improvement.

You will begin the fall season with an enhanced understanding of your own biomechanics and a personalized strength training regimen, ready to conquer your XC season with increased confidence.
