LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Miami track and field team completed day four of the NCAA East Preliminaries Saturday evening.
On the final event of the competition, the women’s 4x400m team of Kennedy Brace, Makenzy Pierre-Webster, Alyssa Robinson, and Gabriella Grissom clocked a season best 3:29.24 to move on to Oregon in two weeks.
Makenzy Pierre-Webster had another historic performance in the 400m Saturday afternoon. Pierre-Webster’s time 51.73 qualified her nationals and now stands as the fifth-fastest 400m time in outdoor school history. This also marks the UCLA transfer’s first individual appearance at an outdoor national championship.
Graduate student Christina Warren will join her fellow Hurricanes in Eugene after achieving a qualifying mark in the women’s triple jump. The 2024 ACC Triple Jump Bronze Medalist, Warren’s mark of 12.97m (42 feet, 6.75 inches) moves the Miami jumper to Oregon for her second appearance at an outdoor national championship.
After four days of competition, twelve Hurricanes have punched their ticket to the 2024 NCAA Division I National Championships.
The Hurricanes headed to Eugene, Oregon, in two weeks and their respective events are listed below:
MEN:
- Devoux Deysel – Javelin
- Milton Ingraham II – Discus
- Solomon Strader – 400m
- Russell Robinson – Triple Jump
- Kennedy Sauder – High Jump
- Edgar Campre – Decathlon
WOMEN:
- Makenzy Pierre-Webster – 400m, 4x400m Relay
- Christina Warren – Triple Jump
- Deisiane Teixeira – Javelin
- Kennedy Brace – 4x400m Relay
- Alyssa Robinson – 4x400m Relay
- Gabriella Grissom – 4x400m Relay
