4x100 Relay Advances to NCAA Finals, Shatters School Record


EUGENE, Ore. – Arizona Track and Field 4×100 relay team advanced to Friday’s Finals with a program record 38.75 on Day 1 of the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
 
The 4×100 relay team set a new school record with a time of 38.75 besting the previous record of 38.85 set during the 2023 NCAA West Region First Round in Sacramento.

The team of Trayvion White-Austin, Brian Limage, James Onanubosi, and Tyson Tippett advanced to Friday’s Finals with an 8th-place finish. 
 
TRACK PERFORMANCES
The 4×100 relay team of White-Austin, Limage,  Onanubosi, and Tippett finished 8th with a school record time of 38.75 (8th) and advanced to Friday’s Finals.
 
Yan Vazquez ran a personal best in the 400m hurdles (50.42) marking the third fastest time in program history. Vazquez finished 14th to grab Second Team All-American honors in his first NCAA Championships just missing qualifying for the Finals.
 
White-Austin ran 10.42 in the 100m to finish 22nd at the NCAA Championships. In his third event of the day, White-Austin finished 18th in the 200m with a time of 20.59.
 
FIELD PERFORMANCES
Sir Jonathan Sims finished 20th in the long jump with a leap of 7.36m in his first NCAA Championships appearance.

The Wildcats are back in action on Friday with the 4x100m relay finals at 6:02 p.m. MST. Sir Jonathan Sims will compete in his second event of the NCAA Championships, the triple jump finals at 6:20 p.m. MST at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
