More details about vacancy

To support the delivery of scottishathletics strategy ‘Building a Culture of Success (2023-2027)’ the Board of scottishathletics are planning to establish five new Focus Groups.

The groups, for 2024/25, will be aligned to the key pillars of our strategy and are aimed at assisting the organisation in delivering our objectives.

As set out in our strategy, it is essential that scottishathletics ensure the membership can engage formally and informally with the governing body and the Board view the Focus Groups as a great way to further engage the membership directly in our work.

The first group to be formed is the Coaching Focus Group.

The Coaching Focus Group will help inform, advise and support the delivery and review of the coaching elements in both the ‘Clubs and Pathways’ and  ‘Performance Environments’ pillars of the strategy.

The Coaching Focus Group is responsible for:

  • Supporting and influencing the delivery of the coaching elements in both the ‘Clubs and Pathways’ and ‘Performance Environments’ pillars of Building a Culture of Success (2023-2027);
  • Providing advice and feedback to the Board and staff to support the delivery of the annual coaching sub-strategy and overall strategic initiatives;
  • Supporting the review of progress against the delivery of the strategy; and
  • Supporting engagement with different core groups within athletics in Scotland.

The Coaching Focus Group will be chaired by a member of the scottishathletics Board and is expected to meet up to four times per year.

Meetings will mainly be held online. However, in agreement with the group, face-to-face meetings may be held on occasion.

The role of the individuals appointed onto the Focus Group will be to attend and provide constructive contributions to the group meetings and the delivery of the responsibilities set out above.

Initially, we are seeking to recruit a minimum of three individuals to the group. Further details on the role and how you can note your interest can be found on the attached advert.

The deadline for noting interest is 12pm on Friday 26 July.
