USC Track & Field Has Record-Setting Group Competing At Paris Olympics

Track & Field | July 26, 2024

The USC track and field program boasts a record-setting 20 current, former and incoming athletes with Trojan ties competing for 10 different countries around the world at the 2024 Paris Olympics.  The track and field contingent is part of the Athletic Department’s record 66 past, present and future Trojans in Paris for the Games.

Troy’s 66 competitors is more than 160 of the 203 National Olympic Committee delegations competing in Paris.  This will be the seventh consecutive Summer Games with at least 40 Trojan Olympians and the second in-a-row with 60 or more USC athletes competing.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (contested in 2021), USC track and field athletes earned a record 13 medals: 6 golds, 2 silver and 5 bronze.  USC has had a track and field athlete earn at least one medal in every Summer Olympics since 1912.  At least one Trojan track and field athlete has earned a gold medal in seven of the last eight Olympics, combining for 19 gold medals in that time.
