Bears travel to Minnesota for the second meet of the 2024 season.


First Time Heading To Minnesota Since 2015

BERKELEY – California cross country is set for its second meet of the season at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday, hosted by the University of Minnesota. The Bears will travel to Falcon Heights, Minnesota, to race at the Les Bolstad Golf Course. The men will compete in the 8,000 meter-race at 8 a.m. PT followed by the women in the 6,000 meters. Both races will be broadcast live on the B1G+ and RunnerSpace.

This is the 38th anniversary of the Roy Griak Invitational, which will be the Bears first time competing in this event since the 2015 season. In that meet, then-sophomore Bethan Knights won the invitational for the women by a staggering 16 seconds.The men took third place and the women took fifth place overall.

In their last meet, both men and women competed at the USF Invitational on August 30. Carrick Denker became Cal’s first man to win an event in six years while Garrett MacQuiddy was the runner-up by taking the top two spots overall Addie Jonhson was Cal’s top finisher on the women’s side by placing eighth.
