RESULTS

On Monday, the 4th Lauralton Hall Classic was held at Eisenhower Park, Milford, CT.

Boys Races

On the boys side, Shelton came away with the close victory over two-time defending champs Notre-Dame West Haven. The Gaels took first place with a score of 56 points, followed by Notre-Dame (64), Fairfield Prep (82), Amity(89), North Haven (132), Wilbur Cross (142), Branford (211), Jonathan Law (213), Foran (241), West Haven (263), and Platt (293). 

Junior Luke Cushing of Amity added another victory to his resume while also breaking the meet record in a time of 16:22. The previous meet record was held by Liam Fedigan (16:47) from Law in 2022. Senior Sebastian Halpern of Wilbur Cross also finished under the meet record taking second place in a time of 16:40 giving Cushing everything he could handle on the cool cloudy day. Matt DeNardis (North Haven), Owen Fletcher (Notre-Dame), and Daniel Tristine (Fairfield Prep) rounded out the top 5 places.

In the JV race, freshman Greg Ladden of East Haven came away with the victory, running 19:42. Jacob Arnaldo of Shelton followed close behind with a time of 19:46. Fairfield Prep (38) came away with the victory in the JV race, with Shelton (60) taking second.

Girls Races

Sacred Heart Academy returned to the podium for the first time since 2020, coming away with an impressive win over North Haven. The Sharks scored 42 on the day, followed by North Haven (57), Wilbur Cross (64), Foran (95), Shelton (129), Amity (147), and Law (194).

SHA was led by junior runner Mackenzie Spooner, who took second overall in the race, running an impressive time of 19:48 on the challenging 5k course. She was followed by her teammates Mavis Banks (8th), Cassidy Colantonio (10th), Willa Krishnaswami (16th), and Sally Banks (17th). While earlier in the season North Haven triumphed over SHA at the Neubauer invitational, the Sharks prevailed Monday on the cool cloudy day.

Grayson Neuman of Wilbur Cross was the girls individual champion winning in a time of 19:46, making it two years in a row Cross has taken home the top individual award. Closing out the top 5 were Charlotte Kenney (Branford), Ambar Santiago (Wilbur Cross), and Kendall Montabana (North Haven).
