CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State’s Jane Eiselstein and Kaden Levings have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Women’s and Men’s Performer of the Week, respectively. Clemson’s Silvia Jelelgo earned Women’s Freshman of the Week honors, while Notre Dame’s Drew Griffith was named the league Men’s Freshman of the Week.
Eiselstein earned Women’s Performer of the Week honors after a strong performance for Florida State at the Georgia Tech Cross Country Invitational over the weekend. The senior from Chattanooga, Tennessee, won the women’s 6k with a time of 21:48.16, helping the Seminoles to a second-place team finish in Atlanta.
Levings notched his first collegiate win on his way to being named the Men’s Performer of the Week. The Colorado Springs, Colorado, product crossed the 8k finish line in a winning time of 25:07.55 in his collegiate debut.
Griffith secured Men’s Freshman of the Week honors after covering the 8k course in 22:53.9, helping the ninth-ranked Notre Dame men’s cross country team capture the team title over No. 4 Northern Arizona at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. Griffith finished 12th overall and was a scoring runner for the Irish in his first official race of the season for Notre Dame.
Jelelgo shined at the Live in Lou Classic on her way to earning Women’s Freshman of the Week honors. She was the first Clemson runner to cross the finish line and the second athlete to finish in the women’s 5k. Jelelgo finished the race in 16:14.2 for her third, top three finish so far this season.
